HummerBot allows you to customize your visual experience and manages various data locally to enhance performance and user experience.

Theme Customization

Changing Your Theme

HummerBot offers multiple theme options to suit your preferences:

  1. Click on the theme toggle button (usually a sun/moon icon) in the top navigation
  2. Choose between:
    • Light Theme: Clean, bright interface with light backgrounds
    • Dark Theme: Dark interface with reduced eye strain
    • System Default: Automatically follows your system preferences

Theme Persistence

Your theme preference is saved in your browser's local storage and will be applied automatically when you return to HummerBot.

Local Storage Information

What We Store Locally

HummerBot stores the following information in your browser's local storage:

User Preferences

  • Selected theme (light/dark/system)
  • Language preferences
  • Dashboard layout preferences
  • Recently accessed services
  • Custom settings and configurations

Session Data

  • Authentication tokens (short-lived)
  • Active session information
  • Form data (temporarily)
  • Temporary file uploads in progress

Performance Data

  • Cached API responses
  • Previously loaded content
  • Service metadata
  • UI state information

Managing Local Storage

Clearing Local Storage

If you need to clear local storage:

  1. Open your browser's developer tools (F12)
  2. Navigate to the "Application" or "Storage" tab
  3. Find "Local Storage" in the sidebar
  4. Select your HummerBot domain
  5. Right-click and select "Clear"

When to Clear Local Storage

  • After logging out on a shared computer
  • When experiencing display or functionality issues
  • Before reporting certain technical problems
  • When troubleshooting sync issues

Browser Compatibility

Local storage settings are tied to your specific browser and device. Changing browsers or devices will require reconfiguring your preferences.

Privacy and Security

  • Local storage data is only accessible by HummerBot
  • Sensitive authentication data is securely encrypted
  • No personal data is stored without your consent
  • Local storage is automatically cleared when you log out

Troubleshooting

If you're experiencing issues with themes or settings not saving:

  1. Ensure cookies and local storage are enabled in your browser
  2. Check if you're using private/incognito browsing mode
  3. Clear your browser's cache and local storage
  4. Disable browser extensions that might interfere with storage
  5. Try a different browser to isolate the issue
